To turn a scanned image into PDF, add the image in Seedr's Merge & Scan Docs tool, review the pages and create the document. A page image in a PDF is not automatically searchable text; check whether a separate OCR step is needed.

Create the document

  1. Open the + menu and choose Merge & Scan Docs.

  2. Add existing page images from your cloud or upload them from your device.

  3. Use the scanning control when it is available on your device and account.

  4. Review page order and orientation, name the output and choose Create.

  5. Open the saved PDF and check every page before sending it.

Image pages and searchable text

A camera image records the appearance of a page. Saving it as PDF does not turn handwriting or printed letters into editable text. OCR is a separate recognition step and can make mistakes. Check numbers, names and dates rather than assuming a readable image has accurate machine-readable text.

Practical uses

Receipts, lecture notes and paper handouts can be grouped into a single document without a flatbed scanner. Use good light, avoid shadows and check the edges before saving. Keep confidential identity and work documents within your organization's approved tools and policies.

Check the document after conversion

  • Keep the source document and use a distinct name for the result.

  • Inspect page order, tables, images and text before sending the file.

  • An image-only scan needs OCR for editable text. Creating a PDF alone does not guarantee OCR or accurate text recognition.
